H I S T O R Y

Edgar Lund was a Norwegian missionary stationed in Hong Kong in the 1960s. While Edgar was a pious sort of creature, the day he met Nancy Tang, he knew he'd fallen and fallen bad. The fact that he discovered she was in with the Triad group Sun Yee On a few months into their relationship didn't even do anything to derail his feelings for her. The couple got married in late 1970 after Edgar denounced his former career and entered the Triad business with Nancy, and on March 23, 1972, their daughter, Ylva, was born. (A considerable hard name for anyone not of Scandinavian heritage to pronounce, her mother nicknamed her Tara at an early age. )

Ylva grew up within Triad life, and as such always had an understanding how things worked within the business. Her parents kept her out of the actual workings while she was young, but Ylva always knew she wanted to do what her parents were doing, and at sixteen, she was initiated into SYO.
Her abilities, which were discovered three years earlier when she became a teenager, were put to their best use within the organization. As she could turn invisible, the Shan Chu sent her on recon and recover operations, stealing things that the Triad needed, assassinating rivals or high ups that had failed to pay their tribute to the SYO.

At 24, however, Ylva was initiated into a project to infiltrate another Triad group, the 14K and feed information back to SYO. She gladly accepted the mission, since it showed that she was finally trusted enough to be considered for undercover operations, and about six months later, she was initiated at 14K after a cover operation where she killed one of her own out of seemingly loyalty to the 14K.

Things didn't quite go as Ylva had planned, however. Within 14K, she met Ethan Tou, and as her father had for her mother, she fell hard for the older man. It's now been two years since they got together, and Ylva stopped feeding SYO information about a year ago, supplying false info instead.

She's not really all that secure in her position anymore.

P E R S O N A L I T Y

An easy-going and flirtatious woman, Ylva takes to people quickly, but only keeps her closest ones all that close. She's mostly afraid of being found out, and insecure about what Ethan will do if he ever does, but for now she plays it cool and keeps being loyal to the 14K, thinking it might end up earning her some credit if her cover is blown.

She's somewhat forgetful when it comes to everyday things, and rarely remembers where she put her keys from the day before, but keeps focused whenever she does something related to work, at least.

A P P E A R A N C E

A mutt, Ylva has smooth features and a pretty face, with brownish red hair that falls somewhere below her waist. She's known to smile, and dress in more unconventional clothing than what's popular nowadays, but doesn't really let any remarks bother her. She doesn't look her age, but only finds it a plus if she can get that train ticket for less than if she had to pay adult.
